Firmware Update Procedure - When Using T&D WebStorage Service

  • All recorded data will be deleted by updating the firmware. Please make sure to download all necessary data before update.
  • In the case of when XXX does not represent the latest firmware version, it means the update has failed. In the case of an update failure, please use the update tool as shown in the procedure below.

When using T&D WebStorage Service, you do not need to download the update tool.
By following the device reset procedure shown below, the new firmware will be installed automatically.

Reset Procedure for Automatic Firmware Update

  1. When the recording is in progress (REC mark displayed on LCD), stop the recording by pressing and holding the REC/STOP button for at least 3 seconds.
  2. Turn off the device by pressing and holding the PWR button.
  3. Pressing the DISPLAY, INTERVAL, and REC/STOP buttons at the same time, hold down the PWR button until all LCD display segments appear, then release all buttons.

After resetting the device, the installation of the new firmware will be completed in about 5 seconds. When the firmware is updated successfully, [LXXX] will appear on the LCD screen. (The XXX represents the version number of the firmware.)

Revision History

Ver. 1.17 March 29, 2022

  • Added a function to output the recording status of the device on the T&D WebStorage Service.
  • When the recording mode is set to One Time, the REC mark on the LCD now disappears automatically when the logger reaches full capacity.
*It is no longer necessary to use the REC/STOP button to turn off the REC mark manually when FULL appears on the logger.
Please note that pressing the REC/STOP button once the REC mark has disappeared will result in deletion of the recorded data and will start a new recording session.

Ver. 1.16 February 03, 2022

  • When a sensor error is detected while an upper/lower limit warning is being issued, a sensor warning is now issued after 30 seconds of continuous error instead of immediately.
  • Fixed a problem where changing the warning settings while the device is in a warning state could cause subsequent warnings not to be sent.

Ver. 1.15 November 19, 2020

  • Fixed a problem that occurred after replacing batteries during a sensor error status condition, where a sensor error notification could be incorrectly sent when an upper or lower limit warning was transmitted.
  • Added the Group tag to the warning data (xml file).

Ver. 1.14 June 17, 2020

  • When returning from Sleep Mode(*), auto-upload of previously recorded data is performed. After that, the logger automatically resumes recording and auto-upload of data.
*Sleep Mode is a feature that stops recording when battery power is low and protects recorded data.
  • Revised battery warning criteria to avoid repeating “warning” and “recovery” state changes when the battery level is low.
  • Fixed a problem that occurred when communication with the sensor failed due to external noise, where the previous measurement was displayed.

Ver. 1.11 September 02, 2019

  • Added low battery warning to the warning settings menu.

Ver. 1.10 June 07, 2019

  • Fixed a problem that occurred after upgrading the firmware of TR-72nw, where a connected high-precision sensor would sometimes be recognized as a standard sensor.

Ver. 1.09 November 30, 2018

  • Fixed a problem that caused data upload process to be cancelled when using external power.

Ver. 1.07 September 08, 2017

  • Fixed a problem that caused a warning not to be detected in the following conditions:
    • When operations such as recording start or warning setting changes are performed on the logger whose battery power at that time was too low to send a warning.
    • When a warning occurs on the logger when resetting the network connection due to network error, etc.
  • When the logger enters sleep mode (“SLP” display on LCD), the operation log is now only recorded and displayed once.
  • When the battery runs low and automatic data upload stops, the error log is now only recorded and displayed once.

Ver. 1.06 January 27, 2017

  • * When specifying a destination other than T&D WebStorage Service:
  • Fixed a problem where the TR-7nw readings could not be sent to the specified address when in the TR-7wf/nw Setting Tool the destination address was entered as [IP address]/[file name]. (e.g. \"\")

Ver. 1.05 November 22, 2016

  • Fixed a problem where the measurement value was not displayed in the warning email when a warning occurred before changes made via T&D WebStorage Service to the warning settings were applied to the logger.

Ver. 1.04 October 14, 2016

  • Improved the communication methodology to be more robust in environments incurring frequent communications delays, such as when using mobile routers.

Ver. 1.03 January 15, 2016

  • A measure was taken to prevent the device from halting during operation.

Ver. 1.02 September 08, 2015

  • Fixed a problem where LAN connection could not be established in certain cases when using remote control commands.

Ver. 1.01 August 24, 2015

  • Implemented remote control commands via LAN socket communication.
  • When a warning email can not be issued due to communication failures or other issues, the unsent warning email will now be sent at the time of the next transmission of data.
