Important Notes on the RTR500B Series Remote Unit Firmware Update

  • The firmware update will delete all recorded data stored in the logger. Please download all necessary data first.
  • It will take a few minutes to complete the update.
  • Please make sure that the battery warning mark is not displayed on the LCD screen of the logger when performing the update.
  • If the update is interrupted (by opening another screen or leaving the Bluetooth communication range) during the operation, return to the update screen to resume the process

How to Update RTR500B Series Remote Unit Firmware

  1. Search for T&D 500B Utility in the App Store to install or update. (The app version needs to be 1.21 or higher.)
  2. Open the app, making sure you have a Bluetooth connection between your logger and mobile device.
  3. Open [Remote Unit Firmware Update] from the [Tools] tab on the top screen. The Remote Units within the Bluetooth range will be listed.
  4. Select the Remote Unit with "Update Available" notification and enter the Bluetooth passcode when prompted.
  5. Tap [Start] to perform the update. When the "Firmware update completed" message appears, tap OK.

  • Fixed a problem that occurred when changing RTR505B or RTR-505-V’s warning settings via T&D WebStorage Service, they were not displayed in the "View Pending Settings" screen.

  • Changed the default setting of the Recorded Data Transmission Schedule from Every Day 6:00 to Every Day at an hour determined by the time of first communication between the Base Unit and the App via Bluetooth.
  • Fixed a problem that occurred when making the Scale Conversion for the RTR505B (with PIC-3150 module) on only one channel via T&D WebStorage Service, where the setting was not applied properly.
  • Fixed an issue where the Scale Conversion Equation for the RTR505B (with VIM-3010, AIM-3010, PIC-3150 modules) did not fit on the screen.

  • Changing RTR500BM’s warning settings is now not allowed when SMS is selected as the warning transmission method (in the Windows software).
  • Added a Help button to the Base Unit Operation Log screen.
  • When registering a Remote Unit using the Initial Settings Wizard, the unit now starts recording immediately.

  • Changed the app’s primary language from Japanese to English so that the app will be displayed in English on an iOS device that is set to a language other than Japanese and English.
