Recall Notice : Thermo Recorder TR-51i/52i
We would like to express our sincere thanks for your continued support of T&D products.
T&D is announcing a recall of some Thermo Recorder TR-51i/52i in which a problem has been shown to occur whereby measurements fluctuate while the Warning Monitoring Function is in use.
Details of the problem and remedies are as follows.
Recalled Products
Thermo Recorder TR-51i / TR-52i
Products shipped between Nov.17, 2010 and Feb.23, 2011, whose serial number (on the bottom of the product) contains a 0 or 1 as the fourth digit from the end.
How to Identify Already Repaired Products
If you have any "recalled product" as mentioned above, it is possible to identify if repairs have already been made to your product by the following methods:
- See if there is a black dot on the upper right of the serial number sticker on the product.
- See if there is a round white sticker on the box of the product.
Details of Problem
When the Warning Monitoring Function is enabled and a measured temperature exceeds one of the set upper and lower limits, the temperature may not be accurately recorded and displayed.
This problem occurs when the set upper / lower limit has been exceeded continuously over 100 seconds.
When this occurs the recorded and displayed temperature will be higher than the actual temperature by 0.1°C per 100 seconds that the reading exceeds the limit.
If you don't use the Warning Monitoring Function, the measurements will not be affected.

Remedy for Problem
Affected products will be replaced with new ones containing modified firmware. To receive a replacement, first please check the serial number on the bottom of the product and if your product is one of the affected ones please contact the distributor from which you purchased it.
