See below for how to check your firmware version depending on your interface method.
T&D WebStorage Service :
- From the [Devices] menu, open the settings window by clicking the [Settings] button for the desired device.
- Read off the "Firmware" version next to the "Serial Number" located at the top of the window.
PC :
- Open T&D software "TR-7wb/nw for Windows" and connect your device via USB to the computer.
- Read off the "Firmware Version" value located at the lower left on the screen.
- All recorded data will be deleted by updating the firmware. Please make sure to download all necessary data before update.
- In the case of when XXX does not represent the latest firmware version, it means the update has failed. In the case of an update failure, please use the update tool as shown in the procedure below.
When using T&D WebStorage Service, you do not need to download the update tool.
By following the device reset procedure shown below, the new firmware will be installed automatically.

Reset Procedure for Automatic Firmware Update
- When the recording is in progress (REC mark displayed on LCD), stop the recording by pressing and holding the REC/STOP button for at least 3 seconds.
- Turn off the device by pressing and holding the PWR button.
- Pressing the DISPLAY, INTERVAL, and REC/STOP buttons at the same time, hold down the PWR button until all LCD display segments appear, then release all buttons.
After resetting the device, the installation of the new firmware will be completed in about 5 seconds. When the firmware is updated successfully, [LXXX] will appear on the LCD screen. (The XXX represents the version number of the firmware.)
Please read and agree to the User Agreement at the bottom of this page, and download the TR-71nw/72nw firmware update tool to perform the update.
If the USB device driver has not been installed on your computer, you will be prompted to install the driver during the device firmware update. (Make sure to complete the driver installation before running the update tool.)

The XXX represents the version number of the firmware. Please read using the number of the appropriate version.
- Connect the device via USB to the computer.
- Open the downloaded "TR-71nw/72nw Firmware Update Tool".
- Follow the instructions on the screen to update the firmware.
If the firmware is updated successfully, [LXXX] will appear on the device LCD screen when the power is turned on. The firmware update should take only a few minutes to complete.

- Added low battery warning to the warning settings menu.
- Fixed a problem that occurred after upgrading the firmware of TR-72nw, where a connected high-precision sensor would sometimes be recognized as a standard sensor.
- Fixed a problem that caused data upload process to be cancelled when using external power.
- Fixed a problem that caused a warning not to be detected in the following conditions:
- When operations such as recording start or warning setting changes are performed on the logger whose battery power at that time was too low to send a warning.
- When a warning occurs on the logger when resetting the network connection due to network error, etc.
- When the logger enters sleep mode (“SLP” display on LCD), the operation log is now only recorded and displayed once.
- When the battery runs low and automatic data upload stops, the error log is now only recorded and displayed once.
- * When specifying a destination other than T&D WebStorage Service:
- Fixed a problem where the TR-7nw readings could not be sent to the specified address when in the TR-7wf/nw Setting Tool the destination address was entered as [IP address]/[file name]. (e.g. "192.168.123.100/index.php")
- Fixed a problem where the measurement value was not displayed in the warning email when a warning occurred before changes made via T&D WebStorage Service to the warning settings were applied to the logger.
- Improved the communication methodology to be more robust in environments incurring frequent communications delays, such as when using mobile routers.
- A measure was taken to prevent the device from halting during operation.
- Fixed a problem where LAN connection could not be established in certain cases when using remote control commands.
- Implemented remote control commands via LAN socket communication.
- When a warning email can not be issued due to communication failures or other issues, the unsent warning email will now be sent at the time of the next transmission of data.
